SV	Toen voer Abner wijders voort, zeggende tot Asahel: Wijkt af van achter mij; waarom zal ik u ter aarde slaan? Hoe zou ik dan mijn aangezicht opheffen voor uw broeder Joab?
WLC	וַיֹּ֧סֶף עֹ֣וד אַבְנֵ֗ר לֵאמֹר֙ אֶל־עֲשָׂהאֵ֔ל ס֥וּר לְךָ֖ מֵאַֽחֲרָ֑י לָ֤מָּה אַכֶּ֙כָּה֙ אַ֔רְצָה וְאֵיךְ֙ אֶשָּׂ֣א פָנַ֔י אֶל־יֹואָ֖ב אָחִֽיךָ׃
Trans.	wayyōsef ‘wōḏ ’aḇənēr lē’mōr ’el-‘ăśâ’ēl sûr ləḵā mē’^aḥărāy lāmmâ ’akekâ ’arəṣâ wə’êḵə ’eśśā’ fānay ’el-ywō’āḇ ’āḥîḵā:

AC	כב ויסף עוד אבנר לאמר אל עשהאל סור לך מאחרי למה אככה ארצה ואיך אשא פני אל יואב אחיך
ASV	And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?
BE	Then again Abner said to Asahel, Go to one side, do not keep on coming after me: why will you make me put an end to you? for then I will be shamed before your brother Joab.
Darby	And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: why should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?

Sch	Da sprach Abner abermal zu Asahel: Laß ab von mir! Warum willst du, daß ich dich zu Boden schlage? Wie dürfte ich dann noch deinem Bruder Joab unter die Augen treten?
